Professional Youth Foundation of Pakistan (PYFP) marked a significant milestone as a delegation, led by President Engr. Muhammad Umer Khan, visited the Sindh Assembly upon the special invitation of Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Dr. Fouzia Hameed. The visit aimed to strengthen youth engagement in policy-making, promote innovation, and raise critical concerns impacting society and the future of Pakistan.
The delegation comprised members of the Managing Committee, including Mr. Shahrukh Ali (Vice President), Ms. Huma Tariq (Additional General Secretary), Ms. Hadiqa Siddiqui (Joint Secretary), Dr. Humera Rasool (Health Secretary), along with Executive Members Engr. Arsalan Saeed, Dr. Umme Laila, and Executive Coordinator Ms. Mahnoor Shahzad.
President PYFP, Engr. Muhammad Umer Khan, emphasized the importance of Youth Development, Entrepreneurship, and Startup Culture in Karachi, urging legislators to support innovation-driven opportunities. He highlighted the pressing issue of drug usage within educational institutions, urging the Assembly to move a resolution for mandatory drug testing for suspected students in universities. He further requested Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Ali Khursheedi, to facilitate a multi-stakeholder conference on Karachi’s critical issues involving professionals from diverse fields.
MPA Dr. Fouzia Hameed appreciated PYFP’s proactive approach, stating:
“Youth-led initiatives like PYFP reflect the true spirit of change. The Assembly values constructive proposals that safeguard our youth and contribute to Karachi’s progress.”
Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Ali Khursheedi, endorsed the recommendations and added:
“PYFP has presented realistic and much-needed suggestions. I fully support the idea of a Karachi-focused conference and welcome PYFP to lead this initiative.”
As a gesture of harmony and respect, PYFP presented souvenirs to minority MPAs on the eve of Diwali and a Shield of Appreciation to the Leader of Opposition.
